Worship Services

Worship at VLMCC is about connecting with God, who welcomes each of us as a beloved child. We hope you’ll come and join us soon! Our Sunday service is at 10:30 am, in-person and on Zoom. We aim for an inclusive and casual but reverent atmosphere, with a blend of music styles for all ages. Members of the congregation join our pastor in leadership every week. The service includes prayer and singing, scripture readings, and a message (the sermon), which connects the scriptures with our lives. Communion is the central moment of every worship service, and everyone is welcome to participate, as you are comfortable. We hope you can bring your whole self – heart, head, and soul!

Visit our VLMCC YouTube channel where you can find videos of our worship services.

As we transition into a post-pandemic world, we are trying to be sensitive to varying desires for caution. All our services are accessible on Zoom. (Join here.) We have masks available at both primary entrances, and air filters placed around the Sanctuary during worship services. The seating in the Sanctuary is arranged to provide extra space between each row. Communion is served with pre-sealed cups.

For most of the year, our worship service includes our adult choir on a weekly basis, and occasionally our children sing as well. The adult choir rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7:00 pm and Sunday mornings at 10 am. Choir is open to everyone who is willing to commit to rehearsal. Choir takes a break during July and August when we have “special music” (solos or smaller ensembles) in worship instead. See Music Director Deborah Wilson for more information.

Children are welcome in worship, and we offer “quiet creativity” bags to help keep them engaged. We also have a Nursery staffed by a paid attendant and a volunteer, for infants through 3-year-olds.

During the service, we have a Moment to Acknowledge Our Youngest Disciples, when your child will be greeted by name (or we will learn their name!) and reminded that God loves them. After that, children sixth grade and under are invited to an age-appropriate children’s program, if they want to go.
