Pastor Rebecca came to VLMCC in November of 2011, after serving a church in Alabama for ten years. She has a Masters of Divinity degree from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA, and was ordained September 1, 2001, by her home congregation, Eureka Christian Church in Eureka, Illinois. Her passions in ministry are helping people articulate, deepen and live out their faith; working to build God’s shalom, particularly through peace and anti-racism work; and enabling congregations to be communities of transformative love. Rebecca is married to Todd Lesh, and they have a tabby cat. She is a Zumba fanatic as well as an avid reader.

Krista Martinez Trimlett

Secretary

Krista started working in our office in January 2023. She is a San Diego native who loves being outdoors. Krista was raised in East County and graduated from SDSU with a degree in Food Science & Nutrition. She loves giving back to our community and works with several volunteer organizations. Most days, she can be found in the garden or helping provide end-of-life care & support with hospice. Krista is the proud mom of two young boys, married to a wonderful husband, and has two adorable rescues, a dog and a cat.

Deborah Wilson

Music Director

Deborah has been working at VLMCC for over twenty years. A native of Glendale, she has Bachelor’s degrees in Music, English, and Philosophy from SDSU. She enjoys working with the choirs at VLMCC, especially the children, and appreciates the “extended family” feeling of the congregation. In her spare time, Deborah writes song and arranges music for choral groups, watches foreign films, plays with her dogs, and dotes on her grandson, Arlo.

Stephanie Cadiero

Nursery Attendant

Stephanie Cadiero was born and raised in San Diego, but loves to travel and explore the world. She is a full-time preschool teacher. In her free time you can find her with her nose in a book or writing something down. She also spends time at the zoo and the beach where she enjoys taking photos of the beauty that surrounds us.

Scott Tiemann

Custodian

Scott has been our custodian since 1998. One of seven children, Scott is a San Diego native and a graduate of Hoover High School. He is married to Juanita. He enjoys the friendly people and quiet atmosphere at Vista La Mesa Christian Church.
